South Zone Sports Climbing Competition 2013
19th Southern zonal sport climbing competition will be organized by SZ-IMF on 28th and 29th Sept 2013,at Shree Kanteerava Stadium ,Bangalore All concerned are to take note of the following; This is the qualifier for the 19th Nationals to be held in Bangalore from 28th Oct 2013

1. The competition will be held for the following categories in respect of the climbing disciplines mentioned there against;
Sub-junior BOYS & GIRLS 10 to 13 years (Born in years 2000,2001,2002) LEAD,
Junior BOYS & GIRLS 13 to 16 (Born in years between 97,98,99) LEAD, SPEED ,BOULDER
Open MEN & WOMEN Born in 1996 and before LEAD, SPEED.BOULDER

2. South Zone team to take part in the ensuing National Sport Climbing Competition will be done on the following basis considering the results in the 19th South Zone Sport Climbing Competitions;
(a) Open Men & Women : Maximum 3 climbers in each discipline from each Category
(b) Junior Boys & Girls : Maximum 3 climbers in each discipline from each Category.
(c) Sub-Junior Boys & Girls: max 3 climbers in each Category

However, as per IMF-NSCC instructions, the maximum number of climbers from a Zone to represent in the Nationals, i.e. the Zonal Quota is 26 climbers. In the circumstances, after carrying out the selection exercise, in case the total number exceeds 26, then the same will be limited to 26 climbers and the discretion of the Zonal Chairman in such selection shall be final.

The South Zone Committee reserves its right not to select and include an athlete in the South Zone Team for the Nationals despite having been a medal winner in the Zonals, either on application of the Team Quota rule OR on disciplinary grounds. Selection of any climber to partake in the Nationals outside the afore-stated selection process OR in excess of the Team Quota of is at the discretion of the IMF-National Sport climbing Committee. Further, inclusion of an athlete from other Zones to represent South Zone in the Nationals is subject to production of `No Objection Certificate’ from such other Zone and its acceptance by SZIMF and subsequently the NSCC.

3. Application Form, complete in all respects as per the enclosed format along with 2 Pass Port size photographs, Age proof ( All Juniors and sub Juniors must attach age proof /date of birth certificate duly attested by a gazette officer and bring original along during competition )and the registration fee of Rs500/- may be submitted to the Competition coordinator before 8PM on the 22nd Sept 2013. The Zonal Committee reserves its right to entertain or reject applications received later than the above time schedule.

4. Judging will be done in accordance with IMF-NSCC Rules and Regulations which is in conformity with the IFSC Rules. All appeals and other related issues will be resolved accordingly. A report will be submitted to the Chairman, IMF-NSCC on the performance of those who have undergone their Judges/Route-setters Course at IMF recently and who are assigned duties in this competition, as per IMF-NSCC Rules.

5. Young climbers falling below the age of 10 years , who are climbing exceptionally well can participate in the event .in case such climbers show merit and qualify in junior category their names will be recommended as special case to the IMF NSCC .
